Ricobene's on 26th street. It's a little off the beaten path but I'm sure you can find it. If your on the train you can find out how to get to it from the Halsted street orange line stop. Use yahoo or Google maps or somethin like that. It'll be a bit of a walk but I'd say its worth it. I did it myself with some friends. It's definitely a "chicago" place to eat, especially on the south side. I'd recommend the breaded steak sandwich myself.
I dont know too much about restaurants downtown, but I do know that Gino's East is a great place to take the family. The pizza is fantastic, and its a very fun atmosphere (but certainly family friendly). It's also a kind of place you wouldn't find in other cities.What are some restaurants in Chicago that my family should go to while on a vacation there ?
If you want the best pizza in Chicago, take them to Nancy's pizza. It's on the north side, in the Lakeview neighborhood on Broadway. I live in Chicago, and have had every kind of pizza out there, and Nancy's is the best by far.
