Fogo de chao and texas de brazil restaurants in Chicago prices?

I want to go to one of these Brazilian steakhouses, and I want to invite my parents. So that makes 3, any idea of how much I could spend in either or if you have been at both can you tell me about how much I expect to spend?

thank you!!!Fogo de chao and texas de brazil restaurants in Chicago prices?
i have been to fogo de chao and its a little expensive. i think that for 3 people it will problably set you back around $150 with drinks and tax included. but you know what its every bit worth it, from the service to the food wich is truly amazing. And when it comes to brazilian steak houses Fogo de chao is more known and more popular here in chicago. Also if you think that fogo might be a little bit expensive there is also another brazilian steak house that is equally as popular and good and its called Brazzaz located on dearborn. right now that have a lunch special going on and you only pay 19.99 per person and you get to eat the same as you would for dinner.
I've been to fago de chao 3 times it was between 75-50 each, depending on the amount of alcohol consumed. Good thing it was a work lunch and I didn't have to pay. Wear loose pants...haha.Fogo de chao and texas de brazil restaurants in Chicago prices?
I've been to texas de brazil quite a few times. I am a very picky eater especially with meat but love it there... besides that they have an excellent salad bar!!! I believe it is $45.99 per person. It's expensive but well worth it!
Texas De Brazil will set you back about $50 a person, not including drinks. You could save some money though. Register on the web site and they always send either 1/2 off coupons or buy 1 get 1 free. There food is awesome. And just a word of advice, stay away from Brazziz. They suck.Fogo de chao and texas de brazil restaurants in Chicago prices?
If you sign up on Texas de Brazil website for special offers they send out 1/2 off coupons all the time. So it comes to maybe $25 plus drinks.

What are some of the more affordable restaurants in Chicago that have private rooms for up to 15 people?

Try Olive Garden. They have walled areas that can be reserved.

Can anyone recommend any good sushi restaurants in Chicago?
I don't know about Sushi, but the area around O'Hare is very busy. There are lots of chain type places around, along with a few pizza places. Most of your fancier places will be in the hotels, and there are MANY of them!! There used to be a nice place in the Ramada called the COpper Trellis, but I don't know if it's there anymore.

I have never been there, but I hear Shoeless Joe's is a fun place to go. If you are here long enough, you may want to check out the Allstate Arena or the Rosemont Theater. Both have pretty good venues (concerts, sporting events etc) and the hotels offer shuttles most of the time. Both places are right near the airport. Enjoy your stay.

Oh yeah. The places in the Sushi places above are all downtown just so you know. You would need to take the train or cab (expensive)
Not far from O'Hare, in the suburb of Schaumburg, IL, is the most amazing sushi place of the many I have tried in the Chicago area:

Japanese buffet -- enormous -- delicious -- fantastic! All the incredible sushi you can eat (the sushi chefs are replenishing the buffet as quickly as the patrons are clearing it), plus hot bar, crab legs, cold shrimp with cocktail sauce, fresh fruit, multiple soups, tempura veggies, pastry bar, ice cream, and made-to-order crepes. One of my best friends calls it The Happiest Place on Earth, and I have to agree.

If you go on your birthday (and can provide ID that says it's your birthday), you get a gift certificate for a free meal there on another occasion.

Have a great time! :-)

Any elegant downtown Chicago restaurants?

My boyfriend and I will be having our 3 year anniversary in 2 wks and would like to go somewhere nice for dinner downtown. We will even have a horse drawn carriage and everything. Any suggestions PLEASE!Any elegant downtown Chicago restaurants?
Your best bet, because you know your tastes and your budget, is to use a website like Zagat's. Here is the link for Chicago:

I live near downtown Chicago and there are TONS of great places to eat. It really does depend on what you like and how much you want to spend.

My husband and I dined at Mon Ami Gabi while in Chicago a few years ago. I absolutely loved it. The address is 2300 N. Lincoln Park West. He ordered the Beef Bourguignon and I opted for the Lemon Chicken Paillard. We both started with Onion Soup Au Gratin. The frites (fries) are the best I have ever had. The dessert menu....*le swoon*.Any elegant downtown Chicago restaurants?
My husband and I have dined at Spiaggia (and the Spiaggia Cafe, which is less expensive) Rhapsody, Cibo Matto, and CocoPazzo, among many others. I think I'd suggest the Spiaggia Cafe, which is on North Michigan Avenue near the lake. It has a varied menu.
The Everest- really fancy and pricey, good food. The Signature Room at 95th-fancy, decent fod. Theres all kinds of fancy restaurants in Chicago, Walnut room, Mortons, Spiaggia(my favoirte). just type into Google, fancy restaurants in chicago.
May I suggest the place called La Scarola or Gibsons Bar and Steak House Chicago?

Top restaurants in chicago to have a fun birthday dinner?

I'm trying to find a restaurant in chicago where i can have my 21st birthday dinner with a few close friends.. nice decor and maybe a table with a sheer curtain around us so it keeps us away from everyone else at the restaurant. Something different. A night to remember. ThanksTop restaurants in chicago to have a fun birthday dinner?
I would suggest going to some place that plays live music, that is always a different experience depending on where you go! There are all sorts of places, it just depends on the type of music you like and what you would listen to live. You can look at an online yellow pages for the different restaurants that you can go to and have fun at! Depending on the food you like there is a place called Las Islas Marias with Mexican style seafood and O'Hagan's Johnny which is an Irish Pub : %26gt;Top restaurants in chicago to have a fun birthday dinner?
Do you like fondue? Geja's in Lincoln Park is a fabulous place that has nice secluded dining tables. Fondue is always great for groups. It is a bit pricey though, probably between $40-$50 a head.Top restaurants in chicago to have a fun birthday dinner?
Oh my gosh I love geja's it's awsome but, just to warn you it's a little pricey. Also I like it but, The lighting is dark. If you want a "hidden'' table make a reservation. The food is great.

Grand Lux Cafe on Michigan has some great window seats and family friendly eats. You can try an Odyssey cruise for lunch. There are some coupons online that may make it affordable. The Dining Room at Kendall College has soaring windows that frame the cityscape from a third-floor dining room. Many chefs get their start here and both the food and scene is fantastic. This restaurant is not located downtown, but rather close to the west loop area of the city. You must call ahead to get reservations. Because the entire restaurant is run by chefs in training, it is very affordable. Pegasus on Halsted (Greektown) has a superb rooftop patio if the weather is nice with wonderful views of the cityscape. They sell small plates of Greek food which are delicious and affordable.

Old country Buffet is a favorite chain around here. I also love Sweet Tomatoes. It's a super duper salad bar, with soup, pasta rolls deserts. Can you suggest some all-you-can-eat restaurants in Chicago, IL?
If you are looking for quality don't waste your time at fast food places and low quality buffets. Plus, those are everywhere. I would suggest you go to Fogo De Chao. All you can eat Brazilian meats, salad bar. It is amazing!
    1) Aurelio鈥檚 Pizza Buffet (506 West Harrison Street, Chicago) - My favorite food in the entire world is pizza and my favorite pizza in the entire world is from Homewood-based Aurelio鈥檚. Thus, when Aurelio鈥檚 began a lunch buffet a few blocks away from my Loop office, my cholesterol level shot up about 100 points just with the marvelous foodie thoughts dancing through my head. Plus, the salad bar has crushed up bits of real bacon (that鈥檚 really the only time I ever touch the salad bar over there), which means you can turn any slice of pizza into a bacon special.

    2) KFC Buffet (700 North Milwaukee Avenue, Vernon Hills) - Did I just say that there is KFC that allows a patron to delve into an orgy of Original Recipe, Extra Crispy, and sides without limitation? Damn straight. As far as I know, this is the only one that exists in Chicagoland. After having lived in nearby Libertyville for a couple of years, I can no longer eat KFC like a normal human being. Unless I get 15 wings and 5 breasts, I鈥檓 not satisfied. Damn you Colonel Sanders, with your beady little eyes!

    3) Malahini Terrace (321 West 75th Street, Clarendon Hills) - Pretty much all Chinese buffets are inherently good. However, the last time I went to this place, it had Peking duck as one its offerings, which makes it inherently stupendous. (Sidenote: How about a pay-per-view battle between General Tso and Colonel Sanders for chicken supremacy? That would totally kick the hell out of that Burger King chicken fight from a couple of years ago.)

    4) John Barleycorn鈥檚 Sunday Brunch (3524 North Clark Street, Chicago) - Yes, I know that the bar is played out for anyone that is more than two years removed from college. However, the breakfast spread here with made-to-order omelettes is surprisingly good at an inexpensive price, although my memories might be colored by the fact that I was probably nursing a hangover during my visit.

    5) Bobak鈥檚 (5275 South Archer Avenue, Chicago) - It鈥檚 Xanadu on Archer. Chicken stuffed in pork stuffed in beef stuffed into a deep-fried pierogi鈥?that essentially describes the experience at this Polish classic. In the end though, it all comes down to how many of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning bacon-wrapped hot dogs you can down Kobayashi-style. That is not a misprint. I would never, ever joke about the existence of a restaurant that offers hot dogs wrapped in bacon, which has been verified by Dan Brown as the main course at the Last Supper. Just be sure to duck your heads while you鈥檙e in the parking lot to avoid the jets flying into Midway.

Lou Malnati's is known for doing this, and was on the Food Network for this sevice. I'd recommend them, Giordano's also does. They are of course different. Lou Malnati's does the butter crust, which many people love. In person, I am a bigger fan of Giordano's, which I think has a more flavorful crust and gets the sauce right. This is a personal preference though, and I have never ordered either by mail.

Are there any 24 hour restaurants near Chicago's Union Station?

My fiance and I are going to a Cubs game and don't want to stay in a hotel overnight to wait till our train leaves in the morning. So we are trying to find a place within walking distance of Union Station to kill a few hours. Preferably a nice, clean place. Are there any 24 hour restaurants near Chicago's Union Station?
"Twenty four hour restaurants" usually means diner, and "nice, clean" ones are hard to come by at that time of morning (a real RESTAURANT shuts down at night to give the night crew a chance to clean up). Union Station is near Greektown and there are a couple of diner-type places there that are open late. One is Mr. Greek Gyros on Jackson and Halsted. They serve basic diner food like burgers and fries, but they also have Greek dishes like Greek roasted chicken and slouvaki. It used to be a little sketchy around there late at night when I worked down at a building down the street, but it's been gentrified so much around there that I can't say for sure what's going on there. There's also a taco place (Taco Burrito King I believe it's called) that's just across the street from Mr. Greek that might be open late as well. But if you're looking for something a little "nicer" and "cleaner" you're going to have to travel a bit.

But I'm also sure that there's something open actually inside Union Station that might be OK. It's a big train station and there are tons of resaurants of all types. At least a couple should be open. Are there any 24 hour restaurants near Chicago's Union Station?
There's quite a few places around Union Sta.

Hey, does anyone know any nice Restaurants in Chicago?

I'm spending some time in Chicago with my relatives and for their warm wellcome I want to take them for nice Dinner, but the problem is they have 3 little kids, so it's got to be family friendly resturant. Please help!Hey, does anyone know any nice Restaurants in Chicago?
It depends on where in the city you are thinking of...and how nice of a dinner you're wanting to have.

There a lot of family-friendly restaurants downtown that can be fun for everyone.

Buca di Beppo can be a lot of fun for everyone; it is a chain restaurant but it never fails, especially for a group. Its family style so you can order multiple entrees and share them. Its not too fancy and right off of Michigan Avenue so you can get your shopping in too. :)

Another chain that could be a good choice in the Cheesecake Factory. Although it does get a little loud when it's busy.

I also agree with the suggestion of Maggianos - it is italian food and has always been good - some portions are also on the larger size so they can also be shared (for the kids).

South Water Kitchen is located across from the River so it is also a great location downtown if you are out and about. They also have lots to keep kids busy with (crayons, etc) and a kids menu.

I would stay away from places like Bennigans just because my experience with service and quality has usually been more a frustration than enjoyable.

    Hope this helps!!

  • Can you recommend restaurants in Chicago and Milwaukee?

Local is preferred. No seafood! Preferably around $10 to $30 per person.

Thank you!Can you recommend restaurants in Chicago and Milwaukee?
    In Milwaukee:

Balistreri's for Pizza. There are two - you want the one on 812 N 68TH St. This is a charming place. Be sure to make reservations, because it can get packed. You'll often see people sitting outside. Or get your pizza to go. Plan on $20 for a large pizza.

Capri's for Lasagna. They're on about 84th and Beloit. It's not upscale dining, but you won't believe how good this dish is.

    For steaks, try Coerper's.

For ribs, go to Pitch's - or you can get the same ribs at a relative's place, Miss Katie's Diner. FYI, this is where President Clinton ate when he was in town. And Rachel Ray at there for breakfast when she was in town. We eat here weekly. This may sound odd, but they have the best salad dressing (ask for the house sweet and sour with bacon) and toast. Yes, toast. I don't know what it is, but I sometimes have that as the main meal.

If you just wanted good ribs to go, try Speed Queen. It's in a bad neighborhood, but if you go there during the day and leave the Bentley and furs at home, you'll be fine.

The Machine Shed, which is actually outside of Milwaukee, is a nice touristy Wisconsin place with good food. There's a quaint little shop there where you get those cute little jars of jelly and whatnot. The wait staff wear overalls. Yes. Yes they do.

For Italian, try the Pasta Tree. It might be pricier than you wanted, but it's a cozy atmosphere. I would recommend reservations because it is a small place.

For Mexican, you can choose between La Fuenta and La Perla. LF is more authentic, according to my husband. LP is more palatable to my bland white palate. Both places are very popular, and LF has expanded by twice its size in the last few years to accommodate its growing popularity.

If there's another type you're looking for, let me know and I'll see if I can think of any others.

Oh, Japanese and Chinese. We have several new Japanese restaurants. I've only eaten at Saketume for sushi. The only Chinese places I know of are of the buffet variety, but I could probably come up with something if you're interested.

Ricobene's on 26th street. It's a little off the beaten path but I'm sure you can find it. If your on the train you can find out how to get to it from the Halsted street orange line stop. Use yahoo or Google maps or somethin like that. It'll be a bit of a walk but I'd say its worth it. I did it myself with some friends. It's definitely a "chicago" place to eat, especially on the south side. I'd recommend the breaded steak sandwich myself.
I dont know too much about restaurants downtown, but I do know that Gino's East is a great place to take the family. The pizza is fantastic, and its a very fun atmosphere (but certainly family friendly). It's also a kind of place you wouldn't find in other cities. What are some restaurants in Chicago that my family should go to while on a vacation there ?
If you want the best pizza in Chicago, take them to Nancy's pizza. It's on the north side, in the Lakeview neighborhood on Broadway. I live in Chicago, and have had every kind of pizza out there, and Nancy's is the best by far.

my good friend married there two years ago on September 17th, and the room was gorgeous-

She had a one hour bar open before, they married in the room by a judge, and had family style dining-less expensive this way.

They reserved the room for about 4 hours, and afterwards, all the young people went to Rock Bottom Cafe, went upstairs to the patio, and drank in the moonlight-at their own expense of course.

The budget was $13,000, and she had between 100-200 people there. It was lovely!

I remember an episode of Chanel 11 (WTTW) Check Please. They did a review of a Peruvian restaurant but for the life of me I do not recall the name. You could check the web site and see if one is listed.

You could also check http://www.restaurant.com and search for Peruvian restaurants under the cuisine search.

    Good luck.

Ok I looked and there are 2 listed on the Check Please site. One is "Taste of Peru" the other is "SushiSambr Rio" it is Japanese cuisine, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. I don't know about that. I can understand the Brazilian and the Peruvian but to toss in Japan.....oh well. Did not check the restaurant.com site have fun with that one. What are some good Peruvian restaurants in Chicago?
Is that sort of like Brazilian or Argentine food? If so, I would go to Tengo Sur up on Southport. It is in a very eclectic neighborhood and the place itself is wonderful. It is very small and lit mostly by candles. It is very inexpensive and also BYOB. A few doors down is the Music Box theater that has various films both foreign and American. Sometimes they run film festivals. Check them out online. The theater is a classic and has some very beautiful decor.

Hey any fantastic seafood restaurants in Chicago for a 25th birthday dinner?

Hey! My fiance will be turning 25 on Jan. 9th of this upcoming year and I want to throw him a surprise birthday dinner for him. I want to try somewhere that's not too expensive so that none of the guests will complain about the prices, somewhere very family friendly, with amazing decor. Just trying to get some ideas here. He only eats seafood so a seafood restaurant is ideal but anywhere else with a good choice of seafood is fine. Thanks in advance!Hey any fantastic seafood restaurants in Chicago for a 25th birthday dinner?

I don't know about prices it costs to eat out unless you go to Popeye's or something.Hey any fantastic seafood restaurants in Chicago for a 25th birthday dinner?
You want fantastic seafood with amazing decor and low prices... that is hard to do. I'd check yelp to help narrow your search a bit and find things in your exact price range. If you consider taking this event into the closest Chicago suburbs (depending on where you live) it should cut down on costs.

For instance, Davis Fishmarket is a pretty good seafood restaurant in Evanston and their prices are pretty good for a seafood restaurant. If you took this place out of Evanston and stuck it in some neighborhoods in Chicago, it'd be pricier. If your guests are into it, they have weekly special prices on Maine Lobster (19.95--down from 27.95-- on Mondays) and King Crab Legs (19.95-- down from 31.95-- on Thursdays). But you might call ahead to make sure that's still the case.

McCormick and Schmick's Seafood Restaurant does a Happy Hour in their bar. It's cheap but it's mostly apps and not a ton of seafood on the bar menu. Check their website for details.

It sounds like you're set on a strictly seafood place, but if you were open to a place that has some seafood options as well as "land-meat," maybe something like HB?

Good luck!Hey any fantastic seafood restaurants in Chicago for a 25th birthday dinner?
Try a buffet restaurant like Old Country Buffet or Golden Corral. Everyone can pay the same price, and eat what they like. Check beforehand with the restaurant to find out what day has the most seafood. If you expect a crowd, you can reserve a section of the restaurant for your friends. (Throwing him a party usually means that you are paying for the food. So make it clear to the guests that they will pay.)

Can you recommend some restaurants in Chicago?

Pho's Hot %26amp; Spicy Thai Cuisine

    3332 N Lincoln Ave

    Chicago, IL 60657

It's small, and at first it looks super shady, but I swear it's worth it. People who challenge the cook to make a really spicy dish, and then manage to EAT the dish, get their photo taken with the cook and the photos are posted on the walls. They also make their dishes at a mild spice level for those who can't take the heat (like me).

Great but not too expensive! What are some great italian restaurants in chicago?
I know I'm going to kick myself in the pants for this (only because it'll become even more crowded!), but try La Scarola at 721 W. Grand. It's been shown on Check Please! and featured in the local papers. Great food, large portions, fun (sometime loud) atmosphere - my favorite place for Italian.

In the downtown area I'd recommend Bice at 158 E. Ontario - a little pricier, think "upscale", than La Scarola but good food as well.

If you're comfortable going to Evanston, try Dave's Italian Kitchen at 1635 Chicago Ave. More of a family restaurant - big booths, boisterous, etc.

You can also try checking the MetroMix (www.metromix.com) site for recommendations. I've found some pretty good places using it.

    Hope this helps!
If you find yourself in the Western Suburbs, Maggianos in Oak Brook (the original) has been our favorite for 25 years. There is a bakery alongside it with that great crusty and chewy bread they are famous for. There is one in Skokie and one on Clark St. in N. downtown. The restaurant is so good. The servings are huge - lasagna looks like a whole meatloaf when they deliver it. You can easily share an entree if you are not a huge eater. The stuffed artichoke appetizer is almost a meal in itself.

It is the one place where you would expect men to walk in with the infamous violin cases. The staff is great, the food is always great, and you will leave feeling stuffed like a cannoli. What are some great italian restaurants in chicago?
Spacca Napoli is real, authentic Italian pizza made blisteringly fast in a wood-burning oven. Their pizza (and Buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto appetizer) is amazing. There are about 12-15 different kinds of great pizza for a maximum of 14 dollars. Most are $9-12 and each serves one person quite comfortably, usually with a little left over for the next day.

Great environment, nice outdoor seating during the summer, and the quintessential Italian pizzeria (it even looks like one!), Spacca Napoli my favorite place to go for pizza. I go there with friends and/or family about once a month, and I live a good 45 minutes away. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and closed from 3pm-5pm every other day, so be careful! Otherwise, you cannot go wrong.

No matter what, your friend has to grab a drink at the Signature Lounge located on one of the highest levels of the John Hancock Tower. If I remember correctly, it's on the floor just below the observation level. The view is incredible particularly at night, the walls all are glass overlooking the city. Even the view in the women's restroom is breathtaking! You can also have dinner there, but I tend to only stop in for a cocktail.

My sister just bought me a plane ticket to Chicago. Being a working student supporting herself, this was allot of money to fork over to pay for a ticket for me to go. I am extremely appreciative and I haven't seen her for almost a year. I'm so excited to go. I wanted to show my appreciation to her by taking her out somewhere nice to eat and doing something fun with her in the windy city. If you have any suggestions it would be great. Restaurants with party rooms in Chicago?

I am getting married this upcoming summer. However, we are on a very tight budget and banquet halls are out if the question. Do any of you know of any restaurant in Chicago or near Chicago that have a party room within?

Thanks in advance!Restaurants with party rooms in Chicago?
Maggiano's has private rooms and you can order off Family Style menu.

You may also want to check out the Park District. Many locations have rooms that they rent out. You will have to arrange for food on your own. Glenview Park District has a great location called The Grove very pretty.

Some Churches will rent out Halls. Check the VFW or a Moose Lodge. Do not know if you have to be a member or if they will just rent out the halls.

If you know anyone that lives in a Condo or Townhouse most of them have Community rooms or Party room that they will let residents use.

The best steak joint in Chicago is Gene and Georgettis. It's more of a come as you are place but the food is great and the portions are like something Fred Flinstone would eat. For a nice place to eat with a great view, go to the 95th. It's on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building. the food is good and on a clear day the view is great. I've been to all of the top steakhouses in Chicago and here are a few that you'll love. For overall menu, Gibson's is my pic and the desserts are out of this world.

Gibson's Steakhouse (Best steaks and you MUST order a dessert. Try the Turtle Pie or Carrot Cake. Slices are enormous and should be split)

Lawry's Steakhouse (Best prime rib you've ever had. Also, must try potatoes and their creamed corn. Restaurant is black tie classy but often crowded. Very intimate.)

I have never heard of Montagoli or Montagnoli Restaurant but any of the other above restaurants are excellent picks especially Gibsons and Lawry's. Lawry's menu is a bit limited with prime rib, salmon, lobster and another fish selection. I wouldn't call it a "Black tie" place. I've seen jeans and sweatshirts being served. For me however it is a "dress-up" place:

    http://www.lawrysonline.com/theprimerib_鈥?/a>

Gibson's is a great restaurant on Rush St where the famous sometime dine. The menu is more varied and top notch:

    http://www.gibsonssteakhouse.com/

What is not addressed above is the second part of your request...good scenery. At Gibsons you can sit outside and enjoy the street scene of wandering tourists but the others and Gibsons have great dining rooms, not known for the scenery.

2 places not mentioned come to mind for both good food and scenery: The Park Grill in Millenium Park and the Signature Room atop the John Hancock Bldg.

The Park Grill has an outdoor dining area where the buildings of lower Michigan, Grant Park, and pedestrians can be viewed. The Signature Room has the view of Chicago itself:

I go to uic and i am looking for a good sushi place. Back at home there is this great place with great tasting sushi (i really like anything to do with shrimp, crab salad/crab (dont care which kind) and tuna...Im looking for a place in chicago that is real good but price friendly like sushi station is (max is 5.25 for a order of 4) Can someone plz tell meWho knows about sushi restaurants in chicago?
Best sushi deal for the money in Chicago is the House of Noodles and Sushi (it may be House of Sushi and Noodles) on Belmont and Ashland. It's an all you can eat sushi buffet with very good rolls for a buffet and it's only about 12 or 13 bucks. They make the rolls to order, so it's not spread out stale crap, and there are 20 or so to choose from.

Now if you want to spend some bucks (and some pretty serious bucks,) go to Tanoshii (sp?) on Clark St on the north side in the Andersonville neighborhood. Mike, the owner, is a "sushi master" and makes some of the best sushi ANYWHERE! His prices are waaaaay high though.Who knows about sushi restaurants in chicago?

The most high-end place celebs stay is both the Peninsula and Four Seasons hotels.

After the game, whoever is playing the Sox or Cubs will usually end up at Tavern on Rush or Gibson's (a.k.a. the "Viagara Triangle").

Patrick Swayze is filming "the Beast" in Chicago; some scenes are done at the Hotel Monaco

We mapped and planned Chicago sights in 3 days,

Start with city microbrewery. Rock Bottom has a splendid selection of high-quality beer brewed on the premises. the "red line" subway has a stop right in front of the pub.. Outstanding quality. We also sample their lunch menu, I recommend their Grilled Salmon Sandwich.

Chicago travelers can have a great time using the rail transit system, the subway is fairly decrepit and dirty, but it does function well with, ticketing, speed, affordability and coverage. While there, make sure you go on "the El" - the elevated train that loops around the perimeter of the famous Chicago Loop downtown.

What are some restaurants in Chicago that are vintage style?

I am hosting a vintage themed baby shower and would like to have it at a restaurant that is vintage style. I would like it to be an elegant and classy restaurant but nothing too expensive - withing reasonable prices. The shower will have about 25-40 guests. What are some restaurants in Chicago that are vintage style?
Depends on what type of vintage you are looking for. You have 1950's retro with Ed Debevics. The Drake Hotel is very old vintage with the Palm Court for high tea. They also have the Cape Cod Room for seafood. Same with the Palmer House Hotel they have Trader Vic's which is an old 1940's Polynesian restaurant.

Gibson's Steak House has "without a doubt the best strawberry shortcake in the world" according to this website: http://home.comcast.net/~wadenorton/best鈥?/a>

I can't speak for their desserts but their Steaks are as good as it gets. For $12 their strawberry shortcake better be damn good too!

What are some good hotels/things to do/restaurants in chicago?

My boyfriend and I are looking to plan a little weekend getaway to chicago in the next month. I would like to stay in a hotel somewhere in downtown chicago or near there. Please don't list hotels that are more than $150 per night. We are poor college students. Also, what are some inexpensive things we could do and or see while we are there? And what are some good places to eat? What are some good hotels/things to do/restaurants in chicago?
    Welcome to a fantastic city!

AND yes you can stay a number of places right in the downtown area within your budget. See the Cheap hotels page below for a list of various hotels, plus there are coupons right on the page the last I checked one even mentioned hotels for about $59.00, in addition to the ones on the page. So YES it's very doable.

I moved to Chicago for college and survived just find on a college income. :)

There are lots of things to do without spending a lot, I'm providing some links to help you have a great time, these pages all have things you can do so browse and find the perfect ones for you and your boyfriend.

Shopping, if you like to window shop, it's definitely cheap sometimes I love to just see what's there.

Navy Pier no cost to get on the pier, and they have a number of great restaurants that are budgetable

Architecture Chicago has fantastic architecture to look at, and for this you can just simply walk around.

Festivals, Chicago has TONS of them and a lot of them don't cost to get in, all you pay for is food if you want, and a lot of them have music, and lots of entertainment that you can enjoy as you walk around.

Museums, yes there is a cost, however, check with the ones you're interested in and find out if or rather when they have FREE days

Chicago has a FREE zoo, Lincoln Park Zoo, it's right off the lake so you can enjoy the zoo and then walk right over to the FREE beaches

YUMMY Food, take a look at the different types of food on the restaurant link, there is information on this page for every budget.

    Cheap hotels http://www.exciting-chicago-vacation.com鈥?/a>

Shopping malls: http://www.exciting-chicago-vacation.com鈥?/a>What are some good hotels/things to do/restaurants in chicago?
I don't have any suggestions on hotels, except I wouldn't stay somewhere expensive so you have more money to spend on fun. As for places to go there is Navy Pier which is fun, also there's the Sears(or willis) tower, go to the top and see the whole city, and a great restaurant is Ed Debevic's, it's not very expensive, it's like a oldies style burger joint, and the waitors are all rude(jokingly) and really funny. What are some good hotels/things to do/restaurants in chicago?
Visit the Aquarium and natural history museum if you're interested in that kind of thing. They do cost so it's not something you can do cheaply.

Also be ready for the tolls on the highways, you have to stay in the right lane to pay them or a camera will record your plates and you will get a fine in the mail.
Hotels in downtown Chicago are expensive. Use Expedia and see if that gets you some deals.

If money is an issue, you need to try to do more things that are free. You can always walk around Navy Pier.

There is so much to do and so much good food to be eaten, you can do just about anything and still have a great time.

I suggest explore, ride the L.

What are some reasonably priced restaurants in Chicago?

I'm taking a trip to Chicago with my friends and parents for my 18th birthday. We're staying two days and are looking for a nicer sit down restaurant for dinner that isn't hard to find, has good food, and is relatively cheap. Generally we're gonna be near the miracle mile and I know there isn't a whole lot to choose from there. So anything around the area within walking distance would be good. I know there is a ton of awesome food in this city so any suggestions are appreciated :]What are some reasonably priced restaurants in Chicago?
You should check out Grand Lux Cafe, It's on the corner of Mich %26amp; Ontario above Ann Taylor. I used to go there for lunch all the time when I was working..I'm not sure about the Dinner menu prices, but the food is really good. My fav pizza place is Pizzeria Due, on 619 N Wabash..just a couple blocks off Michigan ave. If you want super cheap, go to Billy Goat Tavern..good burgers, and quick, and open late at 430 N Michigan, lower level. Rock Bottom also has awesome food..Good prices at 1 West grand ave, just a couple blocks off Mich as well.
Kumas burgers are the best burgers in town. Just google it. It has to be the best burgers you will ever taste. It is also metal themed which is pretty cool. What are some reasonably priced restaurants in Chicago?
Go to Lou Malnati"s pizza. It is the best deep dish Chicago style pizza. It is downtown. You must try it.
Well, most restaurants on Michigan Ave. (the MAGNIFICANT mile) are going to be a little pricier than other restaurants simply because Michigan ave is a ritzier area. But if you're set on dining somewhere in the area, and since you're 18, you might light Frankies (http://chicago.metromix.com/restaurants/鈥?/a> the Elephant and Castle (http://chicago.metromix.com/bars-and-clu鈥?/a> Gino's East Pizzeria (http://chicago.metromix.com/restaurants/鈥?/a> Mity Nice Grill (http://chicago.metromix.com/restaurants/鈥?/a> Foodlike at Water Tower Place or The House of Blues (http://chicago.metromix.com/music/rock/h鈥?/a>What are some reasonably priced restaurants in Chicago?
