I live in the chicago suburbs and I love to try new restaurants too. Check this site out for some good restaurant ideas. I looked it up to Caribbean food in case you might want to check into other gulf restaurants than Jamaican. I hope this helps!

One of the city's few non-greasy spoon Jamaican diners, Maxine's is a modern, well maintained, elegant Caribbean eatery. Maxine's has a full menu with a wide selection of Jamaican food. The restaurant features a weekend Caribbean-style breakfast menu that consists of liver and onions, various fish dishes and beef kidney. Here is a suggestion when the weather gets warmer. Howard Street(between Clark and Sheridan just east of the Red Line) has some nice Jamacian places: Jamacia Jerk and the Carribean Bakery. They both offer take out. Get your favorite take out and head east to the beach for a nice Jamacian food picinic. There is/was a place on 108th or 109th and Western on the SW side . Can't think of the name, but they have the best jerk chicken around !!!
