Whats the best place for fine dining in Chicago or the related suburbs? It's our 1 year anniversary.Whats the best fine dining restaurant in Chicago?
Meat Lovers= Fogo de Chao
Diverse Palate= Sushi Samba Rio (Japanese%26lt; Peruvian, Brazilian)
Cuban= Cafe 28
American/ International Fusion= Pump Room
Haute Cuisine= Tru
If you are really going for the big shebang, I (and 5 girlfriends I called) would go for Tru or Pump Room if it meets the buget. If not, any of the others are quite nice as well. Menu and ambience examples are included below.
Happy Anniversary
If you're going in the city, I would suggest Ruth's Chris Steak House in River North. Absolutely call and make reservations, because it's extremely popular, but somehow still manages to be intimate for a couple. When you call, they'll ask you if you have a special occasion--definitely tell them why you're coming, they usually have a little surprise for you. My partner has taken me there a few times, and we were struck by several things: the hostesses and the waiters remember your name. They referred to us as the (insert last name here) and it was a lovely touch. We always ask for Alan as our waiter, because he describes all the specials and wines with so much knowledge, it's like watching a TV show! My father had just had a successful organ transplant the last time we were there, and while I was in the restroom, my partner and Alan planned a little surprise for me. When it came time for dessert, out came a beautiful dessert platter for us...on the house in honor of my father! Around the desserts the pastry chef had drawn little red hearts in strawberry syrup. It was the sweetest thing I'd ever experienced!Whats the best fine dining restaurant in Chicago?
What do you want to spend? the best place is the signature room on the 95th floor of the handcock bldg if you can't get in try cite!!!

If you want to just have a great time-Bubba Gumps at Navy Pier is a blast!!!Whats the best fine dining restaurant in Chicago?
This is a tough one because there are so many great places. One of the most popular for people who are visiting are obviously the famous chicago pizza places, like Ginos East, Giordanos, or Lou Malnauti's. Smith and Wollensky's is one of the most popular steakhouses. But for a special occasion I would have to also reccomend the Signature Room at the top of the John Hancock building. It's quite pricey and formal but one of the best dining views anywhere. Lots of couples celebrate there. Lots of sites to see during the day, musuems, architecture, etc. or take in a day ball game at world famouse Wrigley Field and dinner at the Signature Room
go eat at the top of the hancock...great view....
A very romantic sort of place to go is The Melting Pot. It's in Oakbrook Terrace. It's a fondue restuarant. A little pricey, but worth it and fun at the same time.
