Well, obviously, the most expensive places equal the highest tips. But I doubt you could snag a job in such a place without some prior experience in a swanky restaurant. Also, the senior staff get the first choice for scheduling, so you would probably be working Tues-Thurs to start. Tru or Alinea can have a table paying easily over $200 a couple for a meal, and a tip should be $30+. How many tables can you serve in a shift - 10 to 30? $300-$900 a night possible? First class restaurants with extensive wine lists and $7.50-$10+ mixed drinks can inflate a diner's bill where the booze cost more than the food.
