Dick’s is located in the Marina City Towers, right on the river. Just a short swim down the river - Dick's will be the perfect place to let your hair down, throw back some cold ones, and grab some of the best grub in town.

The Make-Your-Own Bloody Mary bar will be just the hair of the dog you need to get back up to speed. Complete with omelettes and Belgium waffles, salads, fruits, pastas, eggs benny, crabby cakes, smoked salmon - it's enough food to full fill any appetite. And let's not forget the free flowing chocolate fountain with stuff for dipping in it and an assortments of desserts. With so much food to choose from, you’ll be singin’ Hallelujah! Right across the street from the St. Valentines day massacre.
Portillo's! best ever. period. went there a few hours ago for dinner and i go there every week. you have to go there. no matter what you order, you'll like it. You are served efficiently (like a little slower than the fast food restaurants), but the quality is wayyyyy better! you'll love it! everybody does!
Ed Debevic's is a crazy, fun, good-time restaurant and it'll be a blast!
Lou Malnati's- deep dish pizza at it's best! love pizza? you'll love this. chicago has the best pizza in the world.
Gino's East-more pizza. really good!
Garrett's popcorn- for snacks. all different popcorn kinds and they are all amazing!
yeah so those are all really good. good luck!
I just go to whatever is closest. But I used to eat at this breakfast place called Yolk a lot when I was in college. You should go.
And to the Ed Debevics suggestion. I worked there for four years to pay my way through college. It's an ideal job for somebody who's too much of a jerk to work in a normal restaurant.
Brazzaz
The best ever. Ruffly $50 but it's totally worth it.
Have you had those home-made potato chips in Harry Caray's bar area ? You might like the laid-back atmosphere there. Ed Debevic's also has good burgers.
do you like pizza?
ginos east.
I'm okay with Portillo's but I think you can get better versions of most everything they sell at other places - just my opinion. But if you want variety and a cool interior, sure it's a great place.
Try Bar Louie - they have great bar food at locations throughout the midwest.
For a diversion try a Mr. Beef over on Orleans. It doesn't fall under your request of too quick but they are darned good Italian Beef and Sausage sandwiches. The interior leaves little to be desired apart from the pics of celebrities that love it too - try one and you'll see why. And you can actually park FOR FREE while dining there if that is an issue.
Buca di Beppo is pretty cool too - yes it's Italian and not burgers but it's as casual as you want it to be. It translates to Joe's Basement and has all the gaud of an Italian house with the gold statues down to wine bottles stored in between the fake floor joists. If the furniture were all covered in plastic it would be perfect but you have to draw the line somewhere. No offense to Italians - I'm married to one and I love the kitsch.
Consider further expanding your culinary horizons and try an Indian Restaurant. Bukhara is just down to the west of HRcafe on the north side of Ontario.
