basically i need a restaurant that's preferably modern, or has a european cafe twist (many of the restaurants in the goldcoast are like this)
Also, I know this part is hard, but I would also like a majority of entrees to be under $25.
don't suggest large chains such as big bowl.
i mean ones similar to like Fred's and Red light but not quite as expensive.Restaurants in Chicago?
Oh well...its expensive...but go to Charlie Trotters......best restaurant in Chicago...hands down
Is Big Bowl really a large chain?

Restaurants in Chicago?I like Hugo's Frog Bar and Restaurant on Rush Street.
There is a great way to look for restaurants that are particular to specific wants by checking out an online phone book! You can see which ones serve certain food, have certain features or specialties like Deli's which might be kinda close to a cafe type of restaurant! Hope that helps : %26gt;Restaurants in Chicago?
Avec and Blackbird are great.

Well it's not really "modern", but it's an English Pub! It's this great new place in Lakeview called The Firkin and Pheasant. I think it may be a bit more casual than what you're looking for, but my friends and I have been there a few times since it's been open and we love it. We've only been there at night but I hear the lunch is good too.
The interior is great, the food is great (the sweet potato fries are amazing and they do lots of specials), they have a great beer and liquor selection (some authentic English stuff), it's great for sports viewing (they have like a dozen TVs, but the place doesn't have a sports-bar feel to it), and the service is AMAZING (the server was soooo pleasant and the manager/owner checked in on us TWICE. What's even more amazing is that it's been like this every time, even the Thursday night they had a half-hour wait).
Sorry to rant so much about this place that's probably not even exactly what your looking for, I'm just really excited to have this great new place only a few blocks from me! It's a great addition to this neighborhood.
