I am half Japanese, and I live in Chicago right now. I need some Japanese food, but have no luck finding any. I am not looking for upscale sushi places, or a restaurant where the chef is mexican. I am looking for a good decent Japanese restaurant, run by japanese people with a menu that includes entrees not just sushi. Mount Prospect has a pretty good place Torishin 1584 Busse Rd just off Algonquin Rd. Tiny place in a strip shopping center.
Arlington Heights has a pretty large market, Mitsuwa Market on Arlington Heights Rd and Algonquin Rd. I think because of the market there are quite a few Japanese restaurants in the area. If you go to the market I am sure that any of the employees will be happy to suggest a good local restaurant.
