List 5 or more restaurants that you think the best in Chicago!!
American, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, French...any kinds of cuisine will be welcome!
I would actually prefer an answer with recommending diverse cuisine such as one from American, one from Italian and one from other ethnic cuisine and etc.The best restaurants in Chicago?

6. The Vine - Grayslake - Martini %26amp; Wine BarThe best restaurants in Chicago?
Some of the places that I like:
1. Wishbone: In the West Loop. Serves mainly breakfast foods/ comfort food.
2. Signature Room: top level of the John Hancock. Nice area of town with a great view of the city.
3. There are two small walk-up joints off of Roosevelt behind the UIC University Village. Brauts, Sausages....good and dirt cheap.
4. Peace: Pizza place up in Bucktown.
5. The Phoenix - I enjoy Dim Sum in Chinatown.
Fogo De Chao
It's pricey but definately well worth it. It is a brazilian restaurant and basically you sit down and they bring meat, meat and more meat!!! They have huge salad bar and they bring unlimited mashed potatoes with cheese and these little corn balls and cheesy bread to the table. Oh and the Mojito's are to die for!!!!!The best restaurants in Chicago?
The answers so fare seem to trend toward the lower end of the price scale. Nothing wrong with that, and there are some great places listed, but here's a very high-end list. These will set you back $100 - $400 per person. (Even the Signature Room is low end compared to these places).
Mexican - Topolobampo (along with its more casual neighbor Frontera Grill) is among the best Mexican in the country and defined the concept of high end Mexican.
Italian - this is a tough one. Everyone says it's Spiaggia, but I like Cocco Pazzo better.
French - Tru: The best "regular" restaurant in Chicago. The rest on the list are unique experiences that make them truly world class.
Thai - Arun's: simply the best Thai restaurant in the world. No menu. They ask a couple of questions and 12 courses later you are done.
Contemporary American- Alinea: The new Trotter's and the most expensive place on this list. One of the most innovative restaurants in the world.
Contemporary American- Charlie Trotter's: the best restaurant in the US. Maybe there are better places, but they have not established Trotter's reputation yet, so he remains the gold standard.
No need to trust me, you can look them up on metromix, or Zagats, or anywhere.
Im so with the girl who said Portillos...oh so good!
If you are a meat kind of guy...try Fogo de chow...Its a little pricey...but its all you can eat meat. They give you this little placard. One side is green...the other red. Green meaning more...and red...well you get the picture. The food there is beyond excellent! Try it out.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago is the Como Inn at 546 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60622
It is cozy and romantic and it has been around since the end of prohibition. It is a Chicago classic for authentic Italian food. The seafood is especially good.
I reccomed a place called Portillo's. It has food like hamburgers and fries. But they are very well known for their hot dogs. They are amazing!! It is pretty cheap but classier than Mcdonalds and great quality food.
I also reccomend eating at hard rock cafe. It has a little bit of everything. Very good food and very popular resturant.
I also love the pizza. Especially at a resturant called Gino's East. They have the best deep dish, chicago style pizza ever!! It is also a very entertaining resturant, because you are allowed to write all over the walls!!
On of my favorite resturants for mexican in Chicago is Topolobampo. If you are looking for great authintic mexican food, then this is the place. The menu is changed every week, so there is always something new to enjoy.
There are a ton of awesome resturants in Chicago, but these are some of my favorites. :)
For a Chicago meal, I'd say Superdog.
Chinese- Green Lantern on Argyle.
For Italian, Boca De Beppo. The booth in the kitchen is awesome.
Mexican goes to Garcia's
and just for a joint that features just about everything, Foodlife in the Water Tower is pretty cool.
I know, a lot of fast food. But Chicago isn't really known for fine dining. We're know for Deep Dish and Hot dogs.

Okay. I am going for the Cheap list. Nothing over $20 a person, and most menu items are around the $10.00 range!
Noodles in a Pot- Lincoln Park Thai restaraunt
Kebab King- far north side
Gino's East- Pizza
Heaven on Seven- Cajun
Clark's- for 3 am drunken breakfast
Go online and look for Lettuceentertainyou. They have a variety of outstanding restaurants at reasonable prices.
