My boyfriend is turning the big "22" and I am looking for some suggestions on places to eat... not too expensive (less than 35 a plate). Where are your favorite restaurants in chicago? I'm going towards some american or italian fare.Best restaurant in Chicago to take my boyfriend out for his birthday?
I say Texas de Brazil. Have him sign up online for their Club and he will get a free dinner (worth $45-50 bucks) and then you only need to buy one for yourself and have some money left over for a nice wine or dessert.Best restaurant in Chicago to take my boyfriend out for his birthday?
If you want old school romantic The Italian Village on Adams will give you a nice dinner within that price range. You can request a tiny private room that is like a secluded booth. The whole place is painted with Italian scene murals. Jilly's on Rush St. (across from Gibsons) is also reasonably-priced Italian with that authentic atmosphere with B+W pix of movie stars who have eaten there.
More modern and slightly more expensive is Shaw's Crab House, for excellent seafood. It's on Hubbard, right next to Andy's Jazz Club, so you can stop in for a drink afterwards.
Sullivan's Steak House would be my choice if you just want a classic steak. Pricey, but not outrageous. The atmosphere is classier than the others Ive suggested.
If you want a great location and really "WOW!" experience, Smith and Wollensky on the river right next to the House ofBlues is fabulous but expensive. The loc. is awesome, b/c you can stroll onto the bridge after dinner .Best restaurant in Chicago to take my boyfriend out for his birthday?
Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse is a great place. You can easily eat for less than $35 a plate, depending on what you order. And it's baseball themed, if that's something you guys are in to.
