I'll be in Chicago from oct 26 to nov 1 and i wanna go to good restaurants and bars specially in Downtown and Boystown area. Love any kind of food :)Best Chicago Restaurants?
I have some favorites - I work in Chicago, but live in the suburbs, so I'm a functional diner. I tend to stay close to the loop, so I don't know the northside neighborhoods very well.
Perez Restaurant is one of my favorite Mexican spots. Randolph area has a few good restaurants, all within about two blocks of each other, just west of 294. There's Red Light - Asian fussion thing / Marche - no big deal French / Sushi Wabi - tasty sushi / Vivo - decent Italian, but they think pretty highly of themselves / Bar Louie - bar food, with another one nondescript spot in Wrigleyville.
China Town has some great Chinese - I like Moon Palace a lot - small, nondescript, tasty.
I think another answer was intended to be Gino's East Pizza. Lou Malnati's, Uno and Giordano's are critical pit stops. Deep dish defined.
Greek Town has Athena and Greek Islands, which both do well.
The Billy Goat Tavern is an important pitgreasy- the owner is the source of the famous Cubs curse. Not a bad burger. And The Marquette and Lou Mitchell's are the breakfast greese that needs to be experienced IMHO.
Steak - Gibson's, Morton's, Sullivan's, Chicago Chop House, The Saloon and Kinzie's are good. Seafood - Hugo's Frog Bar - Rush%26amp;Division is a touristy area, but the food is still quality.
One of the all time best restaurants, anywhere, is Topolobampo. Frontera is it's cheaper sister, and just about as good. These are Rick Bayless restaurants, and honestly are two of the best anywhere.
Let me know how things go, and shoot me a note if you want any other good spots.
Esquire Magazine listed L20 as the best restaurant in the U.S. Or, go to Alinea. Grant Achatz was awarded a James Beard award as best chef in the US.
Boystown? Check out Mia Francesca for Italian food. Go to Minibar or Sidetrack for drinks on Halsted. Uptown? Go to Agami. Andersonville? Go to Great Lake for the best pizza you will ever eat. Downtown? Try NOMI (in the Park Hyatt) or Sixteen (Trump Tower) or Heaven on Seven in the Garland building.Best Chicago Restaurants?
My absolute favorite is Gene %26amp; Georgetti's on Franklin St downtown. They have the best prime aged steaks I have ever eaten. The wine list is second to none. Bring your bank account as nothing is free except the water.
Just got back from there. East Side Gino (On Superior) had a great pizza and cool atmosphere. People are encouraged to write on the walls. Great waiters and waitresses too.Best Chicago Restaurants?
Try Fogo de Chao, Webbers Grill, and Famous Daves.
