I live in that area and I don't think there are any specific vegetarian or vegan restaurants in the area. However there is one great place in Evanstan...I know it is quite a drive but the food is worth it. check out Blind Faith Cafe. http://www.blindfaithcafe.com

there is a place in Schaumburg and in St. Charles, Sweet Tomatoes. They identify items on the buffet that are vegetarian. check out http://www.sweettomatoes.com



Some chinese restaurants will do vegetarian if asked. Just make sure that you specify that they use no lard when frying. But in most cases I think many of those items are steamed.Any good vegetarian or vegan restaurants in the Chicago area?
do a search for google maps it will help if you have the zip codes of the areas you put in the words %26amp; the zip %26amp; you will find what you are looking for or as someone else said if there arn't any try a place that has an open buffett %26amp; you can just take what you want %26amp; leave the rest.
