What are the best family restaurants in the chicago downtown area (no chains, please)?

we are going to chicago for 10 days, and a few of those days we will spend in downtown....am looking for affordable family-friendly ( we have a 3 1/2 yr old daughter) restaurants that are not chains.....thanks!What are the best family restaurants in the chicago downtown area (no chains, please)?
Well its not affordable for everyone but I go eat here all the time its awesome. Its the rainforest cafe!!!!!! Its like a rainforest in the restaurants and its so much fun, they have fake thunderstorms and fake animals that make sounds and a bunch of fish tanks. Its super cool my little 4 year old cousin loved it!
Unbelievable! You say no chains and I think every answerer listed chains! In downtown Chicago I would highly recommend Ed Debevics. Also, Wildfire. A little on the pricey side is Harry Carey's. Any of the Lettuce Entertain you group of restaurants would be good. You could google their website. Enjoy your trip. What are the best family restaurants in the chicago downtown area (no chains, please)?
If its a nice day - O'Brien's on the River Walk (across the river from Trump Tower)

Grand Lux - on Michigan Avenue - Sandwiches, salads, etc.

Italian Village - Monroe St.

Berghoff - Adams St.

Weber Grill - Ohio St. - Steaks, Burgers, Chicken - cooked on a Weber Grill

Uno's, Dua's, Geno's East and Lou Malnati's are all great Chicago style Pizza's.

Have fun in Chicago.
