Ok, you're asking a lot... so here goes.
I can't say anything about the city its self out side of it's HARD to get a bartending gig in any really good spots unless you know someone.
As for the burbs, I've been tending bar for 15 years. I can't stand working in a restaurant, you never make much in tips. Pay is usually about $8.00/hr.
Sports bars are anywhere from $6-$8 and on an slow night you'll make $60. Busy night $300 or more.
In a high end restaurant that has good bar activity, attracts some night life etc, your hourly would be the same and you could expect $150 a night on average.
