Hello. What are some good cheap restaurnants to visit while in Chicago. I'll be arriving in early October, so is there some things I should NOT miss out on? Thank you very much.Cheap restaurants in Chicago?
Wiener Circle is ok but don't go late at night, you will be mobbed by angry drunk people.
I would say the best cheap eats are probably going to be a Chicago Hot dog or Chicago Maxwell Street Polish. That will run you 5-6 bucks with fries and a drink. Otherwise there is fast food you can get anywhere, nicer chains you can get anywhere, and the nice Chicago places for 10-15 dollar range.
In general I recommend:
1. EatZi's Easygoing Gourmet in Lakeview (it's not that pricey) by the Landmark Theater. They have the best sushi bar in Chicago for the money. They have a little of everything it is a dine in or take out place that has a full kitchen to make everything. They also sell wines and some packaged food.
2. Salt %26amp; Pepper Diner on Clark street by Addison. Next to IO Theater and close to Wrigley Field. They have the best giant Cobb Salad ever! And it's only $7 bucks. They have a lot of other good stuff too, but I am a cobb salad fan.Cheap restaurants in Chicago?

You cannot miss Weiner Circle at Clark and Wrightwood-the 22 bus stops right there in Lincoln Park. Here you will find cheap food-burgers, cheese fries, and hot dogs and the staff there screams at customers on late Friday and Saturday nights. It麓s a hoot!
There are a ton of good restaurants in Chicago where can eat top notch food (something more than a hot dog, pizza, etc.) and get by on the cheap. There are new "gastropubs" like Hopleaf that are basically great bars with upscale, but reasonable priced bar food (think mussels steamed in wine, etc.), or small Indian or Mexican restaurants that are neighborhood joints that serve authentic FANTASTIC food.
My advice is to pick up a copy of Time Out Chicago magazine when you get here. They have a pretty extensive restaurant list and always feature inexpensive menus. Also, check out Chicago Magazine. It lists almost every restaurant in the city and gives an approximate price.
Finally, check out the Metromix Chicago website's restaurant section (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/dinin鈥?/a> You can put in the type of restaurant you want, and the average price for an entree and see what comes up. Then read the reviews.
YOu can get some great food here on the cheap. Just have to look for it. Chicago is more than hot dogs and pizza.
