Any fancy but decently inexpensive restaurants in Chicago?

I am going to Chicago with a group of 8 people for my birthday. Us girls want to dress up for a night and just go eat out. But, as I said, we want to get fancied up and wear dresses or something nice for the dinner. But we can't afford to pay A TON of money to feed all 8 of us.

SO, I was wondering if anyone has eaten at a restaurant in Chicago that has good food, is pretty cheap (obviously not crappy but not 50 bucks for some soup), but fancy. A lot to ask for but any answers will be excepted!

If you have any questions about what I'm asking, ask and I'll post more info.

Thanks a ton! :)Any fancy but decently inexpensive restaurants in Chicago?
Nacional 27 has a nice casual but optional dress-up kind of atmosphere and is surprisingly inexpensive. Great place. It's either on Randolph or Washington over the river.
this is no joke i swear to god. the best place ive eaten at in chicago for an inexpensive meal is either Mcdonalds or burger king. ive lived here for 65 years and whenever I want amazing food for a decent price i go there.. Try these two places they just popped up. hard to get reservations at though =(Any fancy but decently inexpensive restaurants in Chicago?
Cafe babareeba is amazing in lincoln park. Its Tapas and inexpensive, but very nice and fancy. Another great and innexpensive place is called Cafe Iberico. Also tapas.

Check the websites for these downtown restaurants:

Tru

MK

NoMi

and see if they are within your budget.

They are places where you only dress up,

with really delicious food.

There are plenty of neighborhood restaurants

where you can get dressed up, or not. The food

is more affordable.

A few suggestions:

Brauhaus (with a live German band, dancing)

Cafe Adriatic - Edgewater

The Hopleaf (dining room, not the bar)

Jin Ju

Reza

Acre

Anteprima

Mia Francesca (on Clark)

And all these restaurants are in busy neighborhoods with

bars and activity close by for added enjoyment after dinner.

Just Google the names and see if they suit you.

Enjoy! Chicago is a food city!
